Immunogen Design & Production for In Vivo Immunization

NBbiolab provide comprehensive immunogen design and production services to support animal immunization. Our solutions cover a wide range of immunogen formats, including recombinant proteins, cells, nucleic acid-based systems, and viral delivery platforms.

We tailor immunogen strategies based on target characteristics to maximize immunogenicity and improve downstream discovery success rates.

What Is an Immunogen?

An immunogen refers to the material used to elicit an immune response in animals during antibody or nanobody discovery. Depending on the target type, different immunogen formats may be required to achieve optimal immune activation.

We support multiple immunogen formats to address diverse project needs and target complexities.

Immunogen Formats We Offer

Immunogen Formats We Offer

Recombinant Protein Immunogens Cell-Based Immunogens
• Purified soluble proteins or domains
• Fusion proteins (e.g., Fc-tag, His-tag)
• Multimerized or scaffolded antigens

Suitable for well-characterized soluble targets.
• Stable cell lines overexpressing target proteins
• Native membrane protein presentation
• Whole-cell immunization strategies

Ideal for membrane proteins & difficult-to-purify targets.
LNP-mRNA Immunogens Viral Vector-Based Immunogens
• mRNA encoding target antigen
• Lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation
• In vivo antigen expression post-administration

Enables native protein expression & proper folding in vivo.
• Adenoviral or other viral delivery systems
• Efficient in vivo antigen expression
• Strong immune activation

Suitable for challenging targets & enhanced immunogenicity.

FAQs
What are the requirements for immunogen concentration, purity and endotoxin level in alpaca immunization?

For alpaca immunization, the purity of the immunogen should reach over 90% with a concentration above 0.5 mg/mL. The immunogen buffer shall not contain lethal ingredients such as sodium azide. The endotoxin level of the immunogen should be lower than 1 EU/mg.

What forms can alpaca immunogens take?

Available forms of immunogens include recombinant protein, polypeptide, cells, VLP, mRNA-LNP and adenoviral vector antigen. DNA is not recommended as an immunogen.
